About Arklow Town FC
Arklow Town Football Club has been in existence since 1948. It is widely recognised as one of the largest football clubs in the south east, catering for c. 500 members in the town and surrounding areas. The club provides football for it's members at it's top class facilities located centrally in the town, which includes 3 full size pitches, two of which have floodlights and one that is a full size FIFA approved 3G artificial pitch (one of only a handful in the area). The clubhouse includes dressing rooms and a main function hall. The club is fully affiliated to the FAI through its' c. 30 male and female teams in total, entered into 5 different affiliate leagues (Leinster Senior League, Wicklow Football League, Wexford & District Women's and Schoolgirls League, Wicklow & District Schoolboy League and Dublin & District Schoolboy League). Arklow Town caters for members of all backgrounds and ages, from their academy for boys and girls as young as 4, right up to it's "over 35" mens team and it's KickFit programme, aimed at females who want to play the game of football non-competitively. The club's facilities are regularly used by local schools and as also as regional training centre for the Wicklow & District Schoolboy League and a training facility for League of Ireland club, Wexford FC.
